General links and info
The best place for waypoints may end up here on Sturmbot.org, the Marine Bot downloads section of the site.
Marine Bot has a official files page here. You need to scroll down to the "Marine Bot ports for different Half-Life 1 mods" section and at the bottom there is a download for waypoints "Day of Defeat 1.3 waypoints by Martee". These are 22 maps that come with Day of Defeat, Martee made these in early 2024. You can grab them on his website too.
On this page I will attempt to provide a waypoint list and a link to the map of the same name.
You should be aware that some maps will be hard to find, sites like 17 buddies look like they may go down over time.
If you see a bad link or you do have a map you want to add, please reach out (contact me on Steam or discord) and I can place that download here on Sturmbot.org map downloads. My map download section is quite small but with download sites going down I suppose I should expand it.
Submitting Waypoints
Of course you could contact Frank McNeil and submit them to him (email).
On this site I don't allow uploads directly as it allows bad files to creep in. However, contact me on Steam or discord and I will take your files for this unofficial list.
Another way for sharing waypoints is actually via the Bots United discord "Waypoints" channel Marine Bot file links are already in that channel.
Just make a new post, select the "DoD1.3" button and provide a link. Or post on my discord and upload the files.
Marine Bot waypoint list
Regard this as an alphabetically listed unofficial list as Marine Bot does have an official website and this is just a mirror of day of defeat files for that bot.
In saying that, the list may be more complete than other sources as Marine Bot is primarily a Firearms mod for HL1.
Important: If you see a highlighted color on the map name, its part of a pack of waypoints often for a pack of maps not just a single download so you only download that once.

Next target maps
In this list I have a group of maps that current on-line servers are playing.
To get the list I did this...
- Went to steamserverbrowser.com, then selected Day of Defeat.
- Pick a region
- Pick popular server.
- Click on the "Info" button link of that server.
- Note the "Recent map changes" column, you can see the current and past maps therefore the map cycle.
I will try and list them and find a map download link.
Some may be impossible to get, versions made by the actual server owner, my advice to get these...
- Rename your downloads folder... your drive and folders\Half-Life\dod_downloads to dod_downloads_old
- Make a new dod_downloads folder in your drive and folders\Half-Life\
- Go to the server with your map target. Join and Download it.
- Exit the server after it loads. Don't join another server.
- Look at that new folder you made, it has all the files for that maps. However....
- Some servers have other support files in the "models" and "sound" folders especially, these are admin sounds and models for items like parachute mods... remove them and maybe make a copy of what you have on the desktop. Be careful with these files, you don't want garbage files the map does not need. Most can be spotted quite easy if you know the popular admin mods.
- You can now grab the files and then check the console for any messages of missing files.
It's not the best way of getting maps files but you can snag some rare maps that way.
What ones are most popular? Not sure, the list just looks at whats in a map cycle, but at least it narrows down from a possible list of 3,000+ levels for dod 1.3.
Don't forget Marine bot can import waypoints from "clones" or versions of maps.
Some are clones or versions of maps that are already done, Marine bot does have a waypoints import command, "wpt load original map name here".
It can load waypoints from a similar map, say a version of dod_avalanche called dod_avalanche_aztec that is just re-textured but the same structure, just use...
wpt load dod_avalanche_aztec
...the waypoints load, you check them and alter if required.
wpt save command to save them and use wpt modified "your name" command so the original author is noted and you are listed as the person who modified them.
Just note that some mappers who copy maps... sometimes alter the map origin, that is a disaster, none of the waypoints will line up with the structure now. Also they may add structures and waypoints will be inside walls and structure... make sure you check for items like that.
There is a feature coming (future special .dll) that Frank has provided a way to move waypoints in a 3D space, more on that soon.
